Ust-Koksinsky district with its unique mountain landscapes and bright colors of sub alpine meadows is one of the most wonderful and mysterious areas in the Altai.  Leaving behind the vast Uymon Valley, decorated with the chains of picturesque hills, travelers get into the Valley of Multa River. Climbing up the headlong Multa River, they come up to the three majestic Multinskiye Lakes. In 1991 the Upper Multa Lake became a part of Katun nature reserve.

This tour opens to travelers a world of beautiful lakes and ancient mountains in a remote area of the Altai where the pristine nature still exists.

A hiking trip to Altai is the perfect choice for those who love walking in nature and want to admire the beauty of its untouched flora and fauna. However, to feel your best and fully enjoy the region's stunning landscapes, it's advisable to get physically prepared before the hike. Light jogging or visiting a fitness club before the trip will be beneficial.

The Ust-Koksinsky district can rightly be called the most mystical, beautiful, and unique district of Altai. Traveling through the vast Uimon Valley, you will reach the valley of the Multa River. As you ascend along the river, you will pass three uniquely beautiful and majestic lakes: Nizhneye (Lower), Sredneye (Middle), and Verkhnemultinskoye (Upper Multa). The area around Upper Multa Lake is part of the Katun Nature Reserve.

The tour includes pack horses for transporting group gear. It is also possible to rent additional horses to carry personal belongings.

Active part length: by car – 1 832 km / 1 362 km + on foot – 112 km.
