TOUR ITINERARY

Arrival at the airport of Grozny city, the capital of Chechen Republic. Transfer and check- in at the hotel 4*.
Lunch on your own.
Departure to walking city tour «New Grozny» which will show you that the city has changed a lot since the end of the second Chechen War – now it is absolutely safe and calm.
You will visit the center of modern art, see the mosque «Heart of Chechnya» (one of the largest mosques in Russia and Europe), walk along the quay and learn about the history of Grozny.
Return to the hotel.

Trip to mountain Lake Kezenoi-Am, one of the most highland in Russia. It is located at the border of three republics at an altitude of 1869 meters above sea level, in size and depth it can be put on a par with Lake Ritza in Abkhazia, or Lake Goluboye (Tzerik-kel) in Kabardino-Balkaria.
It is used as sports base for rowing. The lake is stunning with its beauty. Several rare species of fish listed in the Red book inhabit this lake.
Lunch at the café by the lake on your own.
Free time at the lake. You can take walks and enjoy the nature, take boat trips or horse rides (at extra fee).
Return to Grozny.
On the way back you’ll visit another majestic mosque «Pride of Muslims» in Shali. More than thirty thousand people can be in the mosque, and including the surrounding area, about 100,000 believers can pray here at the same time. The white marble used in the construction came from the Greek island of Thassos. The interior decoration and lighting system of the «Pride of Muslims» is also impressive. In the center there is a 8-meter chandelier made with Swarovski stones, and the cornices and wall ornaments are decorated with gold.
Return to the hotel.

Departure to Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan Republic. On the way – excursion to the Sulak Canyon, one of the deepest in the world. The canyon stretches on the entire 53 kilometers, and its depth reaches up to 1920 meters. It is 120 meters deeper than the famous Grand Canyon. The Sulak Canyon – one of the most popular natural sights of Dagestan, which is visited annually by thousands of tourists.

Today you’ll go to the Khunzakh plateau – the widest plateau of mountain Dagestan. The area is 250 sq. km, height – 1000–1200 m above sea level. The plain is surrounded by high mountain ranges.
The main attraction of the plateau is a canyon with steep edges. During the rainy season, the waters of the rivers descend into the canyon from a height of 50–80 m. The largest of the waterfalls is the Tobot, its height reaches 100 m.
Visit to the villages of Khunzakh and Matlas.

Sightseeing tour of the most ancient city of Russia – Derbent. Visit to the main attraction of the city – the citadel «Naryn-Kala» – an ancient fortress in which the former power of the Caspian Gate has been preserved.
Lunch on your own.
Visit to the Kubachi ethno-house which presents hundreds of exhibits from different eras, carefully selected by the owner, the Museum of Carpets and Decorative and Applied Arts, located in the Armenian-Gregorian Church.
A trip to the well-known hovercraft «Lun» – a new attraction in the suburbs of Derbent. This so-called «Caspian monster» truly makes a deep impression.
Group transfer to Makhachkala Airport for flights departing after 20:00.

How to get there

Arrival at Grozny Airport (Chechen Republic) by morning flights. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

On the day of departure group transfer to Makhachkala Airport (Dagestan Republic) for flights departing after 20:00 (local time).
